Angry Birds Second Birthday: Birdday Party and Unique Dress
Rovio launched its 7th free update of its original game Angry Birds. “Birdday Party” was presented last weekend to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the first Angry Birds iOS game release on the iTunes.
The updated iPad game offers 15 new levels with birthday-cake-theme.
The graphics were also updated as well as new elements were added from the spin-off game.
For example, Birdday Party has the scoring graphic just like Angry Birds Rio and the orange bird like Angry Bird Seasons.
The update introduces new menus and new opening screen.
Last week, wife of Rovio Exec, game developer, arrived for Finnish state dinner at the Presidential Palace in an Angry Birds dress. This ball gown was bearing the logo of the popular iPad game.
The one-shouldered dress was mostly red. But it was showing off the eye of one Angry Bird.
Even though Teija Vesterbacka dressed up to celebrate the Independence Day, her unusual outfit could also symbolize the celebration of the game’s second birthday.
Angry Birds Popularity
The original Angry Birds puzzle video game was launched on December 11, 2009. The app became a worldwide sensation. It has received over 500 million downloads by iPad, iPhone, PC and various game console users. Over 12 million copies have been bought through the App Store.
The iPad version Angry Birds HD costs $4.99 on iTunes.
The game’s popularity has to thank for its addictiveness, low price and comical style. Today it is known as “one of the most mainstream games” and “the biggest mobile app success the world has seen so far”.
Rovio constantly supports its iOS game with free updates.
Rovio says it wants to furnish two Finnish playgrounds’ equipment with Angry Bird’s characters.
Besides, the company plans to open the first official Angry Birds retail shop in Helsinki.
