Apple has announced that the company will start selling its Wi-Fi models of iPad in China on Friday. A bite of 16GB Apple’s tablet will cost local residents 3988 yuan ($590), 32GB iPad – 4788 yuan ($707), and 64GB device – 5588 yuan ($825).
The official Chinese sales of the iPad will start at 10:00 am Friday, September 17, 2010. Chinese customers who want to buy iPad can get it in Apple retailer stores, and selected Authorized Apple resellers.
According to Apple the suggested retail price of the iPads is 3988 yuan ($590) for 16GB model, 4788 yuan ($707) for 32GB and 5588 yuan ($825) for 64GB. Customers in China are not so lucky to be able to get the iPad at lower price rates compared to the ones sold in the United States where you can buy 16GB iPad for $499, the 32GB for $599, and the 64GB for $699. But they can still be happy as this famous iDevice is finally coming to their country where people could only buy the iPed so far (iPed was iPad’s competitor).
The iPad gained 3 million sales 80 days after it was released, and it is estimated to have a reach 12.9 million sales this year, as what the research firm iSuppli said in July.
iPad is currently available in 19 markets including Hong Kong.
