Dragon ID App from Nuance, Unlock iPhone with Your Voice
Nuance, the developer of the very famous virtual assistant Siri has released Dragon ID that will let users unlock their iPhones without getting their fingers involved; the command will be accomplished through their voice command.
The release of Siri opened a lot of possibilities for iOS users, making their lives even better or shall I say creepy. Nuance has released Dragon ID that is intended to “secure and personalize access to phones, tablets, apps and PCs with a simple spoken word or phrase”. Sounds really cool, isn’t it?
Dragon ID from Nuance will work by getting and tapping your voice so the device will recognize it. This is something that we can only see in the movies decades ago, but technology is fast evolving and the real thing is here.
I know a lot of us are wondering how this app will work. The developer explains that:
For instance, just saying “Hello Dragon” can securely turn on a device and instantly launch a personalized home screen with favorite apps and content – even on shared devices like tablets or PCs.
This new technology will save you from creating and remember difficult passwords to protect your device. Using Dragon ID will be as easy as wiping your forehead. Just imagine having something on your smartphone that will understand your commands. You can just say, “open sesame” and your Android device will open game applications for you and your friends or your family, or “hello dragon” to unlock your device.
Nuance’s new app will support a lot of foreign languages aside from English. Other supported languages are Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. These are currently available for Android and the rest of other platforms. Additional languages will be available later this year.
Voiceprinting is effectively used in big businesses, carries, and banks so there’s no reason why this thing won’t perfectly work on the iPhone and other smartphones. The magical app will surely satisfy and make all of the users out there happy. It’s not sure however if Dragon ID will be included in the next version of Apple handset or the iPhone 5, but I don’t believe the Cupertino Company wants to be left behind.
Though there are no informations made yet, it’s sure that Dragon ID will be available in the next iPhone or iOS gadgets that Apple will introduce. Both companies have perfectly worked in the past with Siri and there’s no reason why they won’t collaborate again this time for that perfect and incredible application.
I am having this one thought. What if you’ll get hoarse voice due to cough and colds? Will you have to wait for days before you can use your lovely device again? This is really a funny situation, but I guess Nuance already thought of a brilliant solution for such cases.
What do you think of Nuance’s Dragon ID? Is this something that you will get for your device and convenience? Let us know.
