Girl Gets Her New Voice Thanks to iPad App

We have told you how effective the iPad for autistic kids is. Now we’ll tell you another real story about a girl with Aicardi Syndrome who couldn’t talk to her relatives for a long while.
Callee is 17 years old. She is unable to talk because she was born with a rare disorder that causes such a problem and results in mild developmental delay. Callee’s mother has never heard her daughter speaking. The family communicated via sign language until they discovered an iPad app known as Proloquo2Go. Callee can now speak words when talking to her mom Debbie. She is able to say “I love you,” “I want…” and laugh. The family has discovered how great their daughter’s sense of humor is. Besides, the 17-year-old girl can tease her brothers and have fun around the dinner table.

According to Callee’s mom, the family uses Proloquo2Go for questions, comments and teenage chats. This great application not only gave the girl her new voice, it has also made her happier and self-assured.
