Hotel Chain Releases Free iPad Application for Travelers
InterContinental is an iPad application for travelers. It provides almost complete destination information to its customers and travelers.
According to the statement released by the company, the new app for iPad is intended to provide necessary information for tourists and travelers such as recommended shops and nightspots, restaurants, and other interesting topics like attractions and culture.
InterContinental iPad application is free of charge. It covers 120 locations of InterContinental hotels and resorts and can be downloaded for the official InterContinental website.
In addition, this app for iPad works perfectly for users since it includes interactive maps, streaming videos for each destination, suggested itineraries and insider tips on what to bring for the trip, detailed information about certain locations, and the capability to book a place online.
Hotel chains started to release travel apps after users have embraced and loved the app guidebooks from Lonely Planet. In August Fairmont has released a similar app.
InterContinental’s Michael Menis said the release of this free iPad application is intended to keep up with how the users are currently taking advantage of their smartphones while traveling. Another contributing factor on the popularity of the newly released travel apps is the iPad.
“Consumers continue to use new forms of wireless devices to not only search, shop and book travel, but they are increasingly turning to wireless tablets as modern day magazines to explore locations in a much deeper and richer way,” Menis said.
