The popular iPad is still a dominating device in the tablet market. Recent research reports have proved it once again leaving Apple one of the leading tech companies in the world.
According to the 1st quarter results, the beginning of 2012 helped the Cupertino-based company share nearly 65% of worldwide touch screen tablet computers. Apple has managed to surpass 67 million shipments of its device since the release of this tablet.
More of it, since the original iPad prices and iPad 2 prices are lowed down with the launch of the third-generation gadget, the Q1 brought about 12 million additional shipments of these models.
People Want to Buy iPad in US
According to ChangeWave Research company study reports, customers still wish to buy iPad in US. At least, nearly three thousand people from North America stated that this tablet computer dominated their purchasing plans.
Samsung is the main Apple’s competitor on the market. Its Galaxy Tab has reached over 1 million shipments in the first quarter. At the same time the sales of Kindle Fire device, released by Amazon, fizzled in 2012.
It seems that nowadays tablet computers are sold similar to the smartphones. The tablet market gained 185% year-over-year with over 18 million gadgets beings shipped in Q1. At the same time it has reached 33% quarter-over-quarter drop.
While the 3G/4G models aren’t as popular as Wi-Fi devices, Apple still ships a lot of 3G-enabled iPads to users from all over the world. If you wish to buy iPad in US you might like to get 4G version of the latest model since it supports LTE connection. But people outside North America might prefer iPad Wi-Fi version as 4G is not supported outside the USA.
Some companies (LG, Dell and others) are now waiting for the release of Windows 8 and Android 4.0 to use it on their products. Still with a lot of people reporting they would buy iPad in the nearest future Apple is dominating the market and this domination will go forward.
