RedSn0w 0.9.7b5 and 0.9.7b6 Fix Errors with Bluetooth and Skype
New version of RedSn0w 0.9.7b5 can fix Bluetooth issues with the ‘Backup Plan’ untether, released by The iPhone Dev-Team. Another version of RedSn0w 0.9.7b6 fixes errors with Skype after performing untethered jailbreak of your iPad.
The fifth beta of RedSn0w 0.9.7 is now available (testers ONLY please!) for those who wish to jailbreak their iPad. It fixes some bugs.
Bluetooth is now working (and any sandbox-related issues should be resolved too). Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW. Only those enrolled in the iPhone Developer program have legitimate access to that IPSW.
There is actually a Windows version of beta5, but it’s excruciatingly slow compared to the Mac version because it’s forced to use files on your hard drive instead of RAM while it’s processing the very large IPSW images.
It really is very painfully slow, so we probably won’t be releasing it for testing purposes unless it can be sped up somehow.

The iPhone Dev-Team released updated RedSn0w 0.9.7 jailbreak for iPad that fixes issues with Skype after performing untether using the ‘backup plan’.
The sixth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version fixes Skype (and as expected all along, the Skype issue turns out to be unrelated to sandbox patches). Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW! Only those enrolled in the iPhone Developer program have legitimate access to that IPSW using these links (the links won’t work unless you’re a legit developer currently logged in).
Unlike the last few betas, you can freely run beta6 over beta5 without a problem (but for testing purposes, we’d really like people to try both ways from stock and from already jailbroken).
If all you want to do is fix Skype and you’re already untethered using beta5, just run beta6 and deselect every checkbox.
Now that the sandbox, Bluetooth, and Skype issues are fixed, our next priority is porting Monte back to 4.1. We’ll also try to make the Windows version less painfully slow.
