Tablet Competition of iPad Mini, Kindle Fire, Google Nexus Intensifies
The release of the new Apple tablet heightened the competition in the market, and competitors are set to release cheaper tablets this year to challenge the lead.
Competing tablet makers are currently desperate on how to release Apple from its strong grip in the industry, but none so far has achieve even an inch of that dream or ambition. Innovation is what the Cupertino Company brings. Competitors tried to equal that aspect, but still buyers prefer to give up their dollars for an iOS device particularly an iPad.
Still, there are low-cost tablets that show potential to compete with Apple’s currently the most powerful tablet, the iPad. Amazon Kindle, and Google Nexus, are just some of Apple tablet competitors that are expected to come center stage in the middle of this year. Without further ado, let’s take a look on what we can expect in 2012 when it comes to pricing and features.
New Kindle Fire from Amazon
Amazon has proven its magic with the Kindle Fire that sold 6 million units since its release, and it’s currently the second highest selling tablet in the industry. According to reports, the firm is planning to release a new model of Kindle Fire this year with features that can go head to head with the iPad 3.
The rumoured 7-inch tablet is said to have a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel density or 215ppi display. The firm is also said to be working on an 8.9-inch tablet with a screen resolution of 920 x 1200 pixels at 250ppi, features that are very close to what the new iPad 3 is offering. Consumers may not be jumping out of Apple’s boat just for these features, but the price difference maybe the main reason to abandon ship. The tablet from Amazon is expected to have a price range of $199 to $299.
Nexus tablet from Google
Google is rumoured to release tablets that will try to squash Apple’s iPad. Of course we can expect this notion to be real since both companies are currently fighting on which operating system is more powerful (Android or iOS). According to recent reports, the company is planning to lower the price of Tegra 3 processor that is currently utilized in the Asus Transformer Prime. This move won’t only affect Apple, but other close competitors like HTC and LG that are expected to go side by side with the new rate.
Reports also leaked Google’s plan to release a 7-inch tablet within this year. The new tablet is expected to hit the competitors with its very affordable price of $199. The giant company is said to be working with Asustek Computer to materialize the plan.
Apple’s iPad Mini
How do you like to have a mini-iPad? Well, this is not a joke and you can possibly have one within this year. Apple is rumoured to release a 7-inch tablet that is expected to go with a hand in hand battle against the Kindle Fire from Amazon. Some also say that the Cupertino Company is working on a 5-inch device that storms the opponent with its Retina Display (1,600 X960 pixels, or 1,280 X960 pixels), but the device won’t be available in the market until 2013.
The iPad mini is expected to have a price of $299 and has the features that will surely wipe out the competitors, according to one analyst.
