Wikileaks Application Disappears from the App Store
There’s no erotic, embarrassing or offensive content in the Wikileaks application for iDevices. The only thing it does is telling the truth by spreading leaked confident content from the US embassies.
So why has Apple removed it?
The situation about Wikileaks appears to be a little messy or, if you like, controversial at the moment because of the ongoing battle in the court area concerning Wikileaks’ founder Julian Assange and two Swedish girls involved in a sexual scandal.
The real reasons and details of this scandal are still unclear.
The fact, that Wikileaks iPad application was unofficial and charged $2 for download since its appearance in the App Store on December 17th plays against Mr. Assange.
Here’s the app description on App Store: “The Wikileaks app gives instant access to the world’s most documented leakage of top secret memos and other confidential government documents. You can now have all of the sensitive WikiLeaks data easily available on your iPhone”
The reason App Store removed this application could be the fact of charging money for information which is free.
Moreover the organization has non-profit status and Wikileaks app has no official status.
Another option is that Apple didn’t want to have problems because of this controversial application for iDevices, which is a very sensitive subject for company.
